A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph a group of girls and young women who dance at To The Pointe in Hillsborough, North Carolina. I must admit, I’m not exactly a studio shooter and found that dancers, well they jump and turn and do all sorts of things that most of us can’t do (and light stands tend to get in the way and sometimes tripped over). The younger girls (and boys) were absolutely adorable. While so many of them were nervous, they all clearly have a love for what they do. And the young women, honestly I was just blown away. They are such strong, dedicated, amazing young women. I left that day with such incredible respect for the hard work they put in day after day. Not once did any of them complain when I asked them to jump again, or do something technical over. They were simply amazing.
