Meredith & Chris’ Engagement Session…

I had SO much fun with Meredith & Chris this afternoon at UNC.  I realized afterwards when I was driving back home that my cheeks hurt so bad because I was smiling so much (that and having such deep dimples).  They are such a FUN couple and I can’t wait for their wedding next April…thanks to both of you for a great time today!!

Yay TV is BACK!

I’m so excited for tonight.  Not only is it “date night” in our house (we do date night on Thursdays because of my weekend schedule with weddings, engagements, portraits, etc. — but…..Survivor, The Office, and Grey’s Anatomy!!!!!  I really hope they’ve tweaked Grey’s (they’ve had enough time to think about it :) )

Be watching my blog – over the next 2 days I have an engagement and 2 portrait sessions…..but in May I have 4 weddings, 2 engagements, 2 Ooh La La sessions and 2 portraits (and those are the assignments I know about right now)!!

Stay tuned!

Laura & James’ Engagement Session

Today I photographed 2 engagement sessions at UNC’s campus.  I really can’t wait for Laura & James’ wedding next month at Duke Gardens – it’s hard to believe that it’s just a few weeks away now.  They are very special to me and very special to our family so this is going to be a very touching & emotional wedding for me.  The other day it sort of all hit me that Laura is getting married, and I just started crying in the car….Laura is just going to be a truly beautiful bride…I’ve seen her dress, I can’t wait.  They are both such incredible people, I’ve never met such caring, kind people like this before and it’s going to be my pleasure to be a part of their day…

I didn’t disappear…

I know I have blog stalkers (and I love all of you) :)   I didn’t disappear, I went on vacation.  I didn’t turn on my out-of-office on my email – I get so much spam, it really is just counter-productive to do so.  I tried as best I could to just keep up with email and voicemail while I was out (which kind of worked).  The 4 of us headed to Florida for a week, went to visit my brother in Ft. Myers (who I haven’t seen in well over a year and it was SO wonderful seeing him), spent a day at an airshow in Lakeland, and then of course, 2 days visiting Mickey.  They yesterday, instead of coming home we decided to take a detour and spent the day on St. Simon’s Island in Georgia (one of my very favorite places).  I’ll definitely post pictures when I can as we had a truly wonderful time – I really didn’t want to come home…but I’ve got 2 engagement sessions this afternoon and one later this week and some horrible dentist appointment Monday morning :)

Diane & Bart’s Wedding – Highgrove

Yesterday I had the incredible pleasure & honor to photograph Diane & Bart’s wedding at the Highgrove in Fuquay-Varina.  Despite the rain, we were able to sneak in an outdoor ceremony and I managed to get in all my family portraits outdoors!  To say this wedding was beautiful was an understatement, every little detail from Diane’s amazing shoes, to the flowers, to all the cookies and chocolate that her mom made to the amazing cake – everything was wonderful for me to photograph and everyone continually remarked what a gorgeous wedding it was.  It was, simply put – breathtaking.  Diane was stunning….simply stunning.

Diane & Bart – congratulations to both of you as you start your lives together.  Have an amazing honeymoon and thank you so much for letting me be a part of your amazing day!

Of course I have to show you Diane’s beautiful shoes….

The incredible details…

And the very wonderful Diane and Bart…

No wedding is complete without Y-M-C-A!

The final dance, with a final hug from mom…

They really wanted a sparkler exit…it was raining pretty hard by this time, but at least we had a few sparklers!  Congrats again!

A really special session…

Today I photographed a local Breast Cancer Survivor who will be published in an upcoming issue of a Cancer publication.  While I can’t share the images until the publication comes out in June, I was fortunate to chat with her before our session today.  She’s such an incredible person and to hear how she found out about her cancer and the journey she’s had, it really gave me pause and really made me self-reflect on a lot of things in my life.

I really feel thankful for having this opportunity today and I’m so thankful she’s healthy…
