Rainy day…way fun when you are a kid!

Ok so it rained all day…a LOT!  And the girls were stuck inside for the most part, but there was a little break for a while and we went outside for some fresh air and they got to play and then the thunder started.  I thought we’d ride it out a bit and just see what happened.  Then it started raining, they didn’t seem to care (and really, I didn’t either).  I went in the garage though as I’m not a huge fan of getting soaked so I watched them start splashing around, I dutifully rolled up their yoga pants so they could jump around some more and at least gave them umbrellas in hopes of keeping them a little dry.

Then it started pouring and I’m not sure the umbrellas did much good except to give them more entertainment, but we had a good time for about 20 minutes in the rain…and I grabbed my camera which happened to be right in the hallway still from Jessica’s bridal session (see the next post) – so I just popped in a spare card and started snapping away.  The girls love seeing themselves in the little screen so they’d go jumping around and then run up and look.  Tons of fun.  These are some of my favorites….

Madison has always been able to jump but the older she gets the HIGHER she can really jump…

And SPLASH!
And little Miss Sydney, she gets air, just not good air and not while holding an umbrella…

Jessica’s Bridal Session…

I had such an incredible bridal session with Jessica this afternoon at the Hinnant Vineyard in Pine Level, I couldn’t wait to get home and start editing.  Granted, I was super late to our session which is very not typical of me, I had both my GPS and Google maps and I still managed to get lost (I am completely directionally challenged – just ask my husband).

Fortunately, Jessica and her mom were very understanding (thank you lovely ladies) and they showed me the beautiful vineyard and told me all about her wedding in October.  I’m so excited to be a part of it.  Jessica has such a beautiful dress and it compliments her skin & hair exquisitely.

I haven’t done a textured image in a while so I thought this worked well.  I just loved how the light caught her veil.  So gorgeous!

I really love this one…definitely my favorite!

Jamie + Jason Got Married!

On Friday night I finally had the chance to photograph Jamie & Jason’s wedding.  I’ve been really looking forward to this wedding since Jamie’s amazing bridal session a few months ago.  The weather could not have been more perfect this weekend – I have to admit, earlier in the week I was a bit nervous given the tropical storm that was in the South – but we had gorgeous blue skies, relatively warm temperatures (but nothing that bad for August) – just a really amazing evening.

I’m going to jump right in on this one….Jason first seeing Jamie – something I know they both really wanted…

And then they kiss…

They went straight into a bubble exit (which is really great timing)!

Ahhh, the beautiful new couple.  I didn’t ask them to do a thing – we were actually trying to get all the family together for the formals – gotta love this!

And the first dance - a special gift from Jamie to Jason, she recorded the song that they danced to and she sounded fantastic - (this is probably my most favorite image that I’ve edited so far)…

Everyone was having a blast during the reception (Island Sound did a GREAT job)!

And the details……

Jamie & Jason….you guys are incredible.  I wish you so much happiness, love & success….all my best – thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this incredible journey with you!

Southern Bridal Show!

I had such a blast at yesterday’s bridal show.  Ok, my feet hurt as usual but really that’s a given for me as I’m a glutten for punishment as I always need to wear heels (after all, I’m a shoe girl) :)   The bride’s were fantastic, the mom’s were awesome and the groom’s were adorable!  But I have to give serious thanks to my amazing assistants yesterday Laura (actually one of my May brides) and Ashley who was extra daring and wore a creation that I pulled together in just a few days but seemed to win over quite a few people.

And just a reminder – for those that book the 6, 7, or 7 Hour Platinum packages by October 15, 2008 – you also receive your choice the high-resolution disc of images to your engagement/bridal session or one of those adorable little pocket albums I had on display yesterday as well.  Both are valued at $500 so this is quite the value added to your package!  Please email me to schedule your consultation at robin@robinlin.com.  thanks!

Amanda & Jason’s Wedding

This past Saturday I was incredibly fortunate to photograph Amanda & Jason’s wedding in Mount Olive, NC.  It was truly a beautiful wedding, for a really wonderful couple.  They are really good people and I know they are going to have a really happy life together.

I met Amanda and her bridesmaids at the church to cover them getting ready.  Her dress and shoes were not what I expected but I loved everything about them!  It was such a fantastic day, the weather was perfect, really just couldn’t have been a more perfect wedding.

I went a little vintage in my processing of this ceremony image which is a bit different for me.  But the church was so quaint and beautiful I thought it fit perfectly.

I don’t know what made Amanda & Jason stop and kiss again on the way out but this was perfect…

I like when bridal parties want to have fun.  I’ve got a whole bunch of other fun group shots and shots of Amanda & her brothers.  When jump shots work, it’s so great and they all got good air!

I love this shot…I love the interaction and the connection between Amanda & Jason…

And the beautiful details…the amazing Sherrie & Andrea with Bustles & Blooms did a phenomenal job styling this wedding.  Flowers on Broad Street yet again delivered truly beautiful flowers and the cake from Ashley Cakes was not only beautiful but really yummy as well!

Open House Details…

For those who are attending the Open House tomorrow…and need better directions to my studio, I’d welcome you to park in the back parking lot which is located off of Belt St. Basically off of Main St. you’ll turn left on Morning Glory, then left on Belt and you’ll see a large parking lot on your left side – park in that lot. My building is building 3 which is located between Buildings 2 & 4 (building 3 is not clearly marked but is a one-story building with LOTS of beautiful windows and white glass doors). I’m in Suite 3113.

See you tomorrow!

It’s a double booth so you can’t miss it. I promise you, it will have shiny, sweet and comfy all wrapped into one and of course amazing images to view, beautiful albums, etc.

Eliza + Josh

Thursday night, the weather held and I got a chance to photograph Eliza & Josh’s engagement session.  I’ve been looking forward to their session as I think they are a fantastic couple and I’m super excited for their wedding in October.  From the second Eliza contacted me in January, I knew we’d mesh well together and I remember meeting with them and thinking I just had to shoot their wedding.

Eliza & Josh are just fun people to be around, so it makes things for me just super easy.  We walked around the UNC Arboreteum for a while, then hit up Sugarland for cupcakes and finished up in downtown Chapel Hill.  Couldn’t have been a more fun evening for a all of us.

Eliza asked me specifically to set up this image…she just loves laying in the crook of Josh’s arm. At first I shot them from above and then I got down on the ground with them. I absolutely love this shot!
